Our designs are developed to be innovative, collaborative and environmentally sensitive and we have the ability to evolve the design process by enriching the unique local context through an international architectural language, with specific emphasis given to craftsmanship and sustainability. Awards include The European Hotel Design Awards (Winner 2007 & shortlisted 2010), The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture-Mies van der Rohe Award (Nominated 2009 & 2013) and the World Architecture Festival – WAF Awards (shortilisted 2011). Divercity has been selected by Wallpaper* magazine amongst the world’s leading young architecture practices for its annual Architects Directory in 2009. Projects and work have been published in architectural books and magazines and included in exhibitions internationally.
In 2012 Divercity has participated in Faliro 2014 joint venture which has prepared the Masterplan and architecture for the Faleron Bay Regeneration Project in Athens, based on the concepts proposed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
The Joannou family’s core business is construction and concessions through J&P (Overseas), where Dakis Joannou is Chairman and J&P-AVAX, where Christos Joannou is Chairman. The family is also active in shipping, quick service restaurants, real estate development, and hotel ownership and operations, including the Intercontinental Hotel in Athens, and YES Hotels Group, comprising of premium design hotels such as the Semiramis Hotel, designed by Karim Rashid and New Hotel, designed by the Campana brothers. Dakis Joannou, is one of the world’s foremost collectors of contemporary art, his collection having been on display at the New Museum in New York and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Dedicated to contributing to society, the family has created the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation in Cyprus for children with special needs, the Ioannou Center for Byzantine and Classical Studies at Oxford University, the Stelios Ioannou Library at the University of Cyprus and DESTE Foundation for Contemporary Art.
Miltos Kambourides is the Founder and Managing Partner of Dolphin Capital Partners (DCP or Dolphin). Founded in 2004, Dolphin specializes in real estate investments and developments. Since 2005, Dolphin has raised and managed in excess of €1.2 billion in equity through its various investment companies and executed a number of investments across eight countries. Dolphin’s leading investment vehicle to date is Dolphin Capital Investors (DCI). Dolphin is owner and developer of world-class integrated resorts, such as Amanzoe in Greece and Amanera in Dominican Republic. The latest resorts under development are One&Only Kéa Island, which is expected to set a new standard of ultra-luxury resorts in the Cycladic Islands and Kilada Country Club, Golf & Residences which shall host the 1st Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in Greece. Miltos was previously a founding partner of Soros Real Estate Partners, a global real estate private equity business, formed in 1999 by George Soros. Prior to joining Soros, he worked at Goldman Sachs’ Real Estate Principal Investments team. In 1998, he received a Goldman Sachs Global Innovation Award. He holds three degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and BS in Mathematics and was a recipient of Fulbright and other scholarships. He has received several business and academic honours and participated twice in the International Math Olympiad and once in the Balkan Math Olympiad (bronze medalist). He is a co-Founder of a number of ventures including Enthoosia. He travels extensively and has visited so far 139 countries/territories, including the geographical North Pole and Antarctica. Miltos Kambourides was born and raised in Cyprus. He is married to photographer Marina Vernicos; they share their passion for travelling with their three children.
J&P-AVAX is one of the largest concession owners and operators in Greece owning significant stakes in major motorways, such as Attiki Odos and the Rion-Antirrion bridge, car parks, marinas, social infrastructure PPP projects. The company is also the major shareholder and main contractor of the luxurious Limassol Marina project and has a presence in projects in Cyprus, Romania and Poland. It is part the J&P (Overseas) group, one of the largest construction groups in the Middle East, with more than 40 years of presence in the region and an established brand name, having built landmark projects like the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh, the Al Bustan Palace Muscat and the Doha Intercontinental, the Foster + partners Partners designed newly built Queen Alia International Airport in Amman Jordan.
